Strewth mate, chuck a few more snags on the barbie, you flaming galah!

Yes, as you can guess from the heavily stereotyped title, we've managed to safely get to Oz. We arrived on a very cool and slightly wintery Tuesday afternoon and headed straight for Sydney Central. There we stayed a night at the VERY posh Sydney Central YHA (the least hostelly hostel ever, in terms of how smart it is!). We had a quick walk round Sydney and came accross a few places you may have heard of, some kind of big bridge and a weird looking building that looked like a load of seashells...

Note how cloudy it was then! The day after, we met up with Clare's friend Mel, who spent a day showing us around her native city and some of it's other sights, such as 'The Rock' and Darling Harbour:

Mel and her family have very kindly put us up for a couple of days until we can get ourselves sorted out with some accommodation in Sydney over the Christmas period. Martin, Julie, Bryony and Mel, thankyou so much for letting us stay!

Today, me, Mel and Clare visited a Koala Park close to Mel's house in the suburbs of Sydney. Clare was VERY excited at the prospect of seeing (and feeding!) Koalas and Kangaroos, and we got some great pictures of them:

(By the way, the Koala's name is Lenny!)

My favourite was the Echidnas, AKA the Spiny Anteater. These bad boys waddle about their pen in a highly amusing manner, trying to climb the walls, only to fall on their backs with their legs flailing in the air in a comedy manner. Here's one of the little fellas:

Tommorow we had back into the city for a week or two. Hopefully we're going to meet up with some of the guys we met in Fiji, and there's still loads of us to see there, like visit Bondi Beach!
